Beta
sites have the greatest opportunity to influence the final implementation
of features and to identify critical problems with the best chance
of early resolution. Your active participation as a core site
will be essential to our goal of delivering an outstanding product
line. The goals of each beta release are to collect your assessment
of the overall feature set, to get your opinion on the implementation
of each feature, and to begin identifying bugs which occur in
your use of the product and in your environment.
Customers
are selected to become Beta Sites based upon their interest,
willingness, and ability to provide timely information. Beta
Sites provide product feedback throughout the development process
until the final release.
All
customer problems, issues, enhancement requests, and suggestions
are reported to the Beta Team and escalated to the appropriate
development teams. Regular contact with Autodesk via bug reports,
weekly summaries, and questionnaires is expected.
Beta
Sites are also selected on the basis of background information
obtained from enrollment data - specific information about you and your testing environment will be required.
This information is necessary to select sites that are best suited
for each beta program. This information is not used for any purpose
other than your evaluation for this or any future beta program
here at Autodesk.
Each
beta program varies, but at a minimum, we expect you to spend
as much time as possible in your normal production environment
with the software to expose defects. Along the way, we also expect
you to send in your comments about the software as well as any
wishlist items you may have. Additionally, you are asked to respond
to our surveys about your opinion of the beta software. There
are special occasions where we may even ask you to interview
with the industry press.
Once
accepted into any of our product Beta Programs, you will be sent
a packet of general information along with a nondisclosure agreement.
You will be asked to print out, sign, and return our Beta Site License Agreement to begin the program. Each Beta Site must remain in compliance with the provisions
stated in the Nondisclosure and Beta Site License Agreement until
the software is formally released.
So,
How do I sign up? Specific information about you and your testing
environment is required. This information is necessary to
select sites that are best suited
for each Beta Program.
The enrollment
form will take about 20 minutes to fill out. We will need specific information about
your company and the hardware and type of software you are
currently using. This information is not used for any purpose
other than your evaluation for this or any future Beta Program
here at Autodesk.
